During
the late 1960's and early 70's, Westerville Ohio became one of Ohio's fastest
growing communities as subdivisions sprang up between the uptown commercial
district and Hoover Reservoir. Now this historic town is growing again,
this time north into Southern Delaware County.
This community has long been
popular with young, upper-middle-class families. The schools are well-regarded,
and the youth recreation programs are plentiful. Westerville Ohio also
preserves the flavor of its Uptown section, with noted shops and antiques
stores. Homes still can be purchased for $70,000 in Blendon Township, south
of Uptown, though most homes start in the upper $100,000 range.
